NDIS Plan Management - Changes to reimbursements
From mid-2022 the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is introducing small changes to reimbursement requests, to ensure they are compliant with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) requirements.
Previously, a participant, authorised representative/guardian/parent or carer were able to submit a reimbursement request using the Blitzit Plan Manager reimbursement request form for purchases relevant to a participants budget, plan and goals.
The way you submit your reimbursement request with Blitzit remains the same, however the NDIA now requires that all provider invoices and receipts, which are submitted along with your reimbursement request form, include the providers Australian Business Number (ABN).
There will be occasions where a provider may not have an ABN – for example, if you make a purchase from an overseas seller. If this happens, you will need to include an Australian Tax Office (ATO) Statement by a supplier form for the request to be NDIA compliant.
Blitzit Plan Manager must follow the requirements as set out on page 10 of the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.
What does this mean for me?
To continue receiving the benefits of Blitzit’s 1-2 day payments on invoices, you will need to make sure your reimbursement request includes a tax invoice/receipt that clearly shows the providers ABN. If the provider does not have an ABN, you will also need to include a completed ATO Statement by a supplier form.
If you submit a reimbursement request to be processed without a valid ABN or without a completed Statement by a supplier form, Blitzit will not be able to process the payment, and the NDIA may decline to release funds for payment.
Blitzit Plan Manager will be required to keep a completed Statement by a supplier form for five (5) years, meaning you will not have to submit this form with each reimbursement request from the same supplier. Blitzit Plan Manager may ask for this form to be updated on occasion, ensuring the provider details are kept up-to-date, and there is no interruption to your reimbursements.
